There has been an uptrend in people using laxatives to lose weight. A lot of people wonder if laxatives can help them lose weight. The truth is that laxatives do help you lose weight, but unfortunately, it is only a temporary weight loss and the reason why laxatives help you lose weight is because of the water weight it helps you lose by dehydrating your body.
To gain a permanent weight loss, laxatives do not help much, as when the body gets re-hydrated after water gain, the lost weight is gained back. However, a lot of people lately are abusing laxatives hoping it would help them lose weight. Laxatives should only be used for the purpose it is intended to and not for losing weight purposes.
However, laxatives can be beneficial if it is a part of a major weight loss plan. Detoxification is the process of removing the toxins from the body. By removing the toxins and years and years of accumulated debris from the body, we put the body back in order to metabolize the new foods that are being ingested. The best way and the easiest way to lose weight is to increase the body's metabolism (rate of consumption of the calories). This can be brought out by removing the toxins from the liver and intestines which hinder metabolism and once the toxins are removed, a proper metabolic diet that is specific to your body can be taken to convert your body into a fat burning furnace, helping you lose weight quickly and permanently.
Remember, laxatives or a detoxification diet like juice fast, fruit fast, etc. should never be an exclusive option for weight loss as it is bad for health and will only give you a temporary weight loss.
